Man Sentenced With 30 Months Imprisonment For Attempted Human Trafficking in Kano

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano State has sentenced one Emmanuel Okpella to two years and six months imprisonment for attempted human trafficking without the option of fine.

The convict, a resident of Sabon Gari area of Kano State, was paid 6000 Naira to facilitate the travel of Blessing Eze, 23, from Ogun State to Libya

However, the convict and the victim were arrested at Kongolom border control post by the Nigerian Immigration Service who handed them over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP.

The Counsel for the convict, Murtala Isa, pleaded with the trial judge to give his client a light sentence because the convict is first term offender.
